I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

End of the session. Faffed a waveride too close to dead man's point. No wind to waterstart and the rip is sucking me at full pelt straight towards DMP like a magnet - no way out. I ducked under a big wave holding onto the tip of my mast, popped up and there she is my shiny new pride and joy is six feet above me sitting on the end of the groyne! How the f**k did she get up there?!? From an objective viewpoint it was indeed a comic sight...but I wasn't thinking objectively at the time. The damage - tail split in two and a small ding on the port rail. Could be worse...

As for the rest of the session - well not bad at all seeing as I wasn't expecting to sail today which was forecast to be a classic. Got out of work early thanks to a 5pm cancellation and was in the straps by 6pm. Perfectly powered on the 4.5 for the first few runs allowing me to launch a couple of whoppers. Then got caught in a lull on the inside and was whisked downwind several groynes by the Hove conveyor belt. Big slog back upwind but then got stuck into the waves again until my board got trashed.

Oh well sh*t happens. :(
